MEA-MA

W H A T ?????

You know when a child is learning how to speak it can be difficult at times...Sometimes at
this age they just name things what they want to name the object...hhhmmm, I'm not sure I ever grew out of that stage. In fact to this day, I still use the Stacie Baker Dictionary. Just the other day as in last week, I used "My" dictionary...Anyhow...kids learning can be very interesting and sometimes mind boggling b/c we aren't able to figure out what they are saying.

What the heck is mea-ma????? Last week Darren kept saying this over and over again. Zak & I were racking our brains trying to figure out what the heck he was trying to say. The way Darren was talking to us was very serious and he, meaning Darren was getting stressed! I was out of my mind, couldn't imagine what the heck he was wanting or trying to tell us. MEA-MA~~~M E A -M A...what in the world could it be and mean. We seriously became beside ourselves...are you ready for the answer?????It's a Freakin BLANKET. Yip, a blanket. Our son now would like to go down for a nap or night night time with a blanket. It doesn't matter what blanket, just a blanket. Sometimes and I am not kidding, it's 5 or 6 blankets. So, MEA-MA to you. Hope you enjoyed the story...

Pumpkin Patch in Henderson, Texas

Oct. 25, 2007

We went to another Pumpkin Patch and bought some odd looking gourds. Darren likes to play with the gourds and pumpkins.

A woman that I talk with at Curves invited Darren and I to meet up with she and her friend with their kids at the pumpkin patch. It was a quick visit, but nice. Darren got to play with some older boys for a little bit...that was very different for him he also got to meet another girl around his age to play with...

Darren seemed to enjoy the patch...he wasn't ready to go...he wanted to keep climbing on the hay, just like a boy.

New Friends in Henderson, Texas

Look at D.D. riding the wagon...this pic is really cute.

.

Darren was so lovable with the scarecrow...
he climbed up on the hay, kissed the scarecrow in the air
and held his hand...it was a touching moment. I know it's
a stage that he's going through, but I can only pray that he
continues to be loving.

Say "Pumpkin"...The best picture I have been able to get with him with in one of these wood cut outs.

.

PeakaPumpkin...things we come up with

when we have kids...love it. You should have

the pleasure seeing what Darren does when

we do the Pumpkin Eater Jig...he is so funny...love it.

Info on the Nix Family

Zak: He's been under the weather...hacking, coughing, being lethargic...this past Sunday he stayed in bed all day. Other than that he's okay...He actually got to play golf a couple of weeks ago. He is a golf player, but doesn't get to play very much...maybe one day he'll be able to play everyday...that is a dream of mine for him. that day will be far away, but will plan on him doing it in the future. Zak's Fantasy Football is going well...he still doing is same routine: phone, t.v. computer...phone, t.v., computer. Once again, he's like a little boy in a candy store. It's cute.

Stacie: I weighed in today at Curves...after cheating severely this past weekend. I have to keep my weigh/measuring days the same though to be fair. Looks like I have lost 7 lbs., 9 inches, & 1.65% of body fat. I know for a fact that I have lost one full pant size (almost a size and a half), a shirt size, and a bra size. Just have to keep it up. I try to walk 12-15 miles a week, but with Darren having his runny nose, asthma, and having some rain, I haven't been able to do that in the past 2 weeks. The main thing is that things are shifting and numbers are going down! :O)

Darren: He's doing great with his new inhalers...He is now loving Pre-School...he loves his teacher, and so do I. He's growing like a weed and cutter than ever.

RITUALS

Oct. 20, 2007
Look what Daddy has started!!!! Zak introduced Whip Cream in a can to Darren about 6 weeks. Ever since then, Darren & Zak do hand shots of Whip Cream...I'm not sure who likes it better. I have a feeling this is going to be something that will hang around for a long time. I can actually see it now...20 years from now coming into the kitchen interrupting/catching them doing whip cream shots. What a great memory Darren will have.

Look at Zak's face...
how excited he is
for Darren.

Check out D.'s tongue...he's tasting it already.

MMMMMM...yummie to d's tummie.

Daddy's turn to have some whip.

NICE SURPRISE

I personally can't believe my mother is

really with her...

Mr. Rogers is fast...Zak & I couldn't
believe how fast this turtle could move.
Darren wasn't too fond of Mr. Rogers.

Being Silly At NeeNaws

Who Says You Can't Change

This page is dedicated to my Mother/Mom/Mommie/Mamma/Mamacita

As my sister and I were growing up, we were under some strict rules in
our house. Who'd a thought down deep inside my mother had what I
would call a "wild side" about her??!!?? My Mother started
to let loose when she got her convertible 10 years ago.
A few years after that, she got a tattoo...that was huger than huge...
now she is riding a Harley Davidson & has more Biker Gear than really ever needed.
She has two hole piercing in each ear...that's huge. When Renee' & I were growing
up, we were lucky to get one hole in each ear.
My mother got her 2nd tattoo(turtle) not too long ago and just recently got her 3rd tattoo.
My mother...who'd a thought she would change this much???? I'm so glad that she
can be open and do what she wants.
I Love You my loving Mother,

Goon

My mother's 1st tattoo...A treble clef. My mother may
not be able to sing in tune, but she sings her heart out and
taught me to do the same, even though I wasn't gifted with a voice. Not only can she get down on some out of tune singing, but she can carry a beat like no body's business. She's a hoot to watch
get down on a song that she really likes. She too can dance...it's mesmerizing when she's on the floor. I'm so glad that I got some of her talents.

A turtle...my mother had this wonderful
aunt in her life. How lucky she was to have someone
so loving. Aunt Irene collected turtles. Once Aunt "Rene"
past away, my mother started collecting turtles. My mother has
turtles from Hawaii, Texas, Mexico, California, Africa, and many other places. She will always have aunt Rene with her, especially now that she has a turtle on her ankle. :O)

Her most recent tattoo...she got on my sisters birthday, Oct. 8th.
A sun~ representing my mother & her husbands zodiac leo sign.
(fyi, leo's are sun signs.)
The Flames around the sun representing motorcyling.
lighting bolt representing ELVIS (Taking Care of Business)
The initials on the bottom lower right representing her and her husbands initials.

Pappy's "BELL" Pumpkin Patch

Oct. 12, 2007
Darren & I went to Pappy's Pumpkin Patch with the Mom's group and had a blast. Darren's life was full of adventure for 3 hours. He did so much stuff...stuff he hasn't done before... We went on a hay ride to the pumpkin patch, took pics in the patch, had a wagon ride from one of his friends in the pumpkin patch(interesting sight for a 3.5 year old to pull a 22month in a patch dodging pumpkins), bit into a pumpkin, swung on a tire swing, went through a hay maze, went on a tractor barrel ride, had a pick nick, went swinging with one of his friends, he teeter tottered for a moment, played in the sand, picked out a white pumpkin, saw friends he hasn't seen in a long while, and got tired...mommie got tired! We had lots of fun at the Pappy's "Bell" Pumpkin Patch.

Barrel Tractor Ride

Driving around the Pumpkin Patch...Darren's driving the school bus just like his Daddy Dan did for many years...and like his Mommie did for a couple of years. The kids really enjoyed riding on this tractor ride.

THE HAY MAZE

The Hay Maze was a lot of fun...Darren did pretty good. He got stuck a couple of times, but figured out on his OWN how to get out. He entered & finished the maze by himself.

Just a Swingan'

Darren & Julian swinging
at the patch
having lots of fun.

In the Pumpkin Patch

Darren wasn't too sure what to do in the patch. At first, he wanted me to carry him; it was as if he were overwhelmed/scared...then he started to say unkn'(pumpkin). When he saw the wagon, he was in hog heaven...he loves wagons.

Caldwell Zoo

Oct. 10, 2007

Darren and I met up with the Mom's Group of Tyler at the zoo in Tyler. The weather was great and we had a great turn out. Here are some of the pics we took...we have had the pleasure seeing penguins, white tigers, baby rhino's, ant eaters, monkeys and a lot more at this zoo. We go here often.

CHOO CHOO

Oct. 3, 2007

CHOO CHOO's coming to town. Those of you that don't know about choo choo, that is Thomas the Train. Darren is in complete awe with Thomas and all the stories. It's one of the first words he uses when he wakes up and one of the last words he uses when we put him down for bed.

Well, Thomas the Train is having an event the end of Oct. and Darren gets to go. We got the tickets and a BIG Surprise in the mail. When Darren looked at the hat he kept saying CHOO CHOO. The first picture shows it well. He looked so cute with the hat on...amazingly enough he kept the hat on for a good period of time.

Hope you enjoy the pics, I couldn't decide which pics to put on the blog, so I put all of them. :-)

Thank You Grandma for the Train Hat and Bandanna. It was a great SURPRISE!!
