Talk about being Tired

Darren and I went to Irving this weekend for our step niece in-law's 1st Birthday... Darren and I visited the grand-parents... we are always worn out when we travel to the Dallas. This is Darren about 25 minutes after getting home.

GOOD MORNING...for who???

What does Darren do when he wakes up in the morning???? Well, yesterday morning, Saturday, Feb. 9th he decided to get into the chocolate pudding as I was in the bathroom. Take a look at what I got to see when I came into the kitchen to make his ritual oat meal...

CHEEEEEZZZZEEEE

2 Projects Completed

2 more projects completed...Darren actually helped me too! :O) It feels so good to finish a project & actually like to outcome.

Erin, my sted sister-in-law & sister in christ informed me in her blog about displaying books where one can see the face of the book & it to be more enticing for kids. I was very intrigued when I read her blog. When we were in Irving for her sons 3rd birthday, I got to see exactly what she was talking about and got even more intrigued.

I went to Lowe's, purchased a 10 foot rain gutter & brackets to hold the rain gutter. I cut the rain gutter in 3 & 4 ft. dimensions with my cooking scissors, decided to paint the gutter. I screwed the brackets into the studs & slid the gutter in the brackets. It really wasn't that hard at all. It was actually a bit fun to do.

Now, Darren can see his books much better. A few things about having this for a book holder is: It's more eye appealing to Darren, it gives a lot of color to the room, the books are easy to put back, and it's easy for Darren to put the books back as well. I just know when it's time to "clean up", he'll be able to help me with the books now instead of me putting the books in order from large to small with the bind showing only. ~~~Yes, I actually took the time to do that...pretty crazy huh.

I am so excited about having this done. The result is really cute. Thank You Erin for sharing this on your blog!!!!! If y'all decide to do this, I sure hope the result ends up as satisfactory as it is to me. The stuff ended up costing me a little over $17.00. That was for a 10 ft. rain gutter and 6 bracket holders. Not too bad. Much cheaper than buying a bookcase & the bookcase taking up a lot of room.

If you choose to do this, GOOD LUCK & HAVE FUN...

A letter from a Kenyan

hello family and friends...this is a very important letter from one of the kenyan's i worked with on a daily basis. he wrote it to a dear friend/mentor of mine in california. i ask all of you to pray for kenya and for this battle to be over. walking on the grounds and having the experience i had in kenya and knowing this is going on right where i walked is very sentimental to me. i ask all of you for a prayer or two or three. i will even go as far as asking those of you that have prayer groups to put kenya on the prayer list. nakuru is an awesome place...please help protect the area with prayer. love to all.

"Dear ma,
thank you so much for your continued prayers. i have not been able to write to you because the town has been a no go zone because of the scamishes. The day you wrote this message was very timely because the whole day that day my family was in doors. the fighting was about 100yards from were my family lives. It was very scary. A neighbour's house was burnt down and nothing was saved from their newly built house. Oh! dear, it was shocking more so to see massive property just being burnt just because a person is of a different ethnic group. Fran i not in terms that innocent blood, children of God are dying just because they are of a different ethnic group. Moreover it has taught us to live each day at a time because you really dont know what will happen tommorow. peace is now returning slowly but still people are very traumatized.Kenya is such a beautiful country that it is difficult to comprehend that all these things are happening. Any way Fran my family is safe. all the boys at th Rescue Centre and the school are safe. keep praying for a couple of Rohi staff who have been evicted to safety. On more has not yet reported yet since the year started. We do not know where he is. He was employed in December.Pray for the mediation that is in process, the opposition and the Government that God will intervene. How is Jim doing? How did his surgery go on? Praying for you always. Thank you for your prayers too. You are a great treasure, a beautiful jewel that no one would want to lose.Take care and may God bless you.Onesmus"
